Gonja Sufi and Gaslamp Killer's 'A Sufi and a Killer' is finally out. If you happen to be in LA on the 15th, check out the release party at Echoplex - both the Sufi and the Killer will be playing DJ sets. For the rest of us in the rest of the world, listening to the album on repeat is just going to have to do.

I also recommend checking out the upcoming issue of Dazed and Confused, featuring an interview by Deputy Editor Tim Noakes, that apparently involves a road-trip across the US. Awesome.

I woke up this morning to find myself in the midst of a musical name-dropping competition between AvantCaire and Tom Gara. We're still embroiled in the heat of battle (I will crush them).

Anyway, this intercontinental (AvantCaire is currently in snowy New York) challenge has reminded me of the Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue duet 'Where the Wild Roses Grow'.

I would happily sacrifice myself to the river if Cave was the one with the rock in his fist. Swooooon.

Follow @avantcaire, @tomgara and @discobb for updates.

I discovered 'IV' (four) last year at the excellent wavesatnight. From first listen I was hooked to IV's darkly cinematic sound and immediately started an exchange with the band, hoping for more background. They happily sent me music, but weren't very generous with information.

Finally last week, and upon further probing, IV admitted to being two graphic designers from Paris with an obsession for film (as evidenced by their video above for the track 'Alaska - The Place Where We Were Hidden). They also said that they have something exciting coming up soon, but apologized for not being able to discuss it.

These cryptic boys (are they male even?) of IV obviously know which buttons to press because I am now even more enamoured by them. I'm looking forward to the next precious nugget of information delivered to my inbox (and can't wait for more musical presents).

Thank you IV.
