The Base of the Pit

Antifamily were (are?) a London-based collective of artists, marxists, designers and musicians. There's very little information about them floating around the internet, but whatever you do find is congratulatory and gushing. It's not hard to see why - their anarchist/post-punk/freeform/beatridden sonic experiments are surprisingly melodic (unlike a lot of other 'art' bands). They're also really danceable. I especially like the numerous female vocalists that are paraded around in the songs. They're all dark hair and scowling faces, the kind of women you would expect to be entranced by at a dinner party.

I'm not sure if Antifamily still produce any music, though I do know that members of the collective went on to form Petit Mal (also featured here on discobb).

For more mp3s check out the Antifamily website. It's essential stuff.
